Traveling within Nepal

Most flights within Nepal are on small aircraft, generally about 18 seaters such as the Twin Otter, Beech and Dornier. These short take-off and landing aircraft (STOL) are necessary for the small mountain runways. Most flights have wonderful views and to fly close to the mountains in a small aircraft is certainly an exhilarating experience.

Some of the flights to the bigger regional airports such as Pokhara, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj use larger 40 seater Avro aircraft.

Overland travel in Nepal is also a wonderful experience. The main highways are in reasonable condition apart from the occasional landslide and there is so much to look at as you pass through the villages and countryside. Depending on the size of the group, we use reliable cars, minibuses or large buses..
