Security assessment

Despite ongoing battle between Maoists and the Nepalese government the trekking anywhere in Nepal is absolutely safe. The media all over the world are making it bigger then it really is. There is absolutely no threat to tourist from rebels, the Maoist leaders regularly announce that tourists are welcome to Nepal. Over the Nine years of insurgency there has not been any report of a tourist being harmed by Maoists. We have been operating treks to all those Maoists controlled areas but no trekker came back with bad experience other then having to make some ‘donations’. ( please click here to read a report from one of our clients who did 40 days trek in all those Maoists controlled areas.)

There is occasional bandh (strike) in Kathmandu but is completely safe. After the King took over the leadership of the country we believe that state of uncertainty has come to an end. So, we urge all our friends and well-wishers all over the world not to worry anymore about the situation over here and request you to continue to support Nepal and Nepalese as you used to do in the past.
