Press Release Dec 2006

After the intervals of many years, Nepal tourism Industry is gradually reviving its tourism potentials from the dire strait. With the restoration of peace and rising hopes of resolving political instability and insurgency, Nepal at present is attracting more tourists. In the wake of such growing hopes for Nepal tourism Industry, it becomes very essential for us to come up with more high quality services and innovative programs.

In this regard, Australia based “The Travel Directors” and Nepal based “Explore Himalaya Travel and Adventure” have jointly initiated to conduct Wedding Program in the month of October exclusively for the three tourist groups with the objectives to promote Nepali culture and tradition. Three Australian couples, one couple from each group, shall play the roles of bride and groom on the scheduled dates following the entire Nepali marriage ritual; Douglas and Christine Allen from the first group on 18th October, Hans and Beth Kannegieter from the second group on 25th October and Stanley and Nola Hayes from the third group on 1st November 2006.

In accordance to traditional Nepali marriage, the Wedding Program includes entire rituals like Swayambar invitation ceremony, Janti procession, Ratauli dance, Barani, Kanyadaan, Yagya puja, Lajahome, Sila Puja, Saptapadi, Sindur, Chandra Darshan, Hridayalamban,  Mahur Khuwaune, Grihatilak, Anmaune, Vitraune and Chultho Pathi.  Taking the futuristic approach for the promotion of Nepal Tourism Industry, we hope that such program of this nature can be very effective to make a breakthrough in opening up new areas for the tourism potentials and also to make Nepali culture and tradition more popular internationally.
