Mountaineering Expeditions in 2008

Brief review of our Nepal & Tibet mountaineering expeditions in 2008:

KT Baruntse Expedition (Summited 15th May 2008)

A six member team headed by Bo Belvedere Christensen - Leader (Denmark). Christensen and two other members members, Jens Christian Trolle Nielsen (Denmark) and Martin Cederkrantz (Denmark); were successful in reaching the summit of Baruntse.

PH Team Everest Expedition (Summited 21st May 2008)

Project Himalaya Everest Expedition 2008 had Jamie Mcguiness as the leader of 9 member team. Four members were successful in summiting Everest on 21st May. They were one of the first few groups to reach Everest that season.

Peak Freaks Everest Expedition (Summited 21st May 2008)

Explore Himalaya acted as base organizer for this group. Led by Tim Rippel there were nine members in this group. The peak was summited by six members.

7 Summits Everest Expedition (Summited 25th May 2008)

Consisting of just two members Søren Smidt and Henrik Kristiansen the Danish team of 7 Summits took it slow and steady and reached the top of the world on 25th May 2008.

Mountain Climbing 2008

Project Himalaya Manaslu (8163m) Expedition 2008 (Summited 5th October 2008)

Project Himalaya Manaslu Expedition group had four members led by Phil Crampton (UK/USA) of Altitude Junkies. Two members Phil and Valerie Parkinson (UK) summtted Manaslu on 5th October. Valerie became the first British woman to climb Manaslu.

Project Himalaya Mt. Kang Guru (6981m) Expedition (October 2008)

This expedition was led by Phil Crampton and had eight members. The team had to abandon their summit attempt due to bad weather.
