Mountain Biking Adventure in Sikkim 15 Days
|
Sikkim, a land of extraordinary beauty-soaring mountains, plunging rivers and lush tropical forests, brilliant with a profusion of vivid flowers, birds and butterflies and decorated with verdant terraced hillsides, simple stilted villages and colourful temples and monasteries.
Sikkim is a land of abundance, beauty and adventure. Whether your passion is long treks or short walks-ever changing landscape; white water rafting or mountaineering amongst the worlds highest peaks, photographing natures diversity, or just hanging out ,meeting people of other cultures and enjoying festivals- Sikkim is your destination.
Sikkim offers the magical feel of a Himalayan fairytale land. It's an amazing place of hidden valleys, mystical monasteries, snow fed lakes and a mountain setting covered with flowers and forests.
Mt. Kanchendzonga, the worlds third highest mountain peak in the world at 8,586 mts., dominates the landscape and is revered as the Sikkim's guardian deity. Sikkim is a hidden state of India in the Himalayas across Nepal's eastern frontier and Tibet and China in the northern side with a part of western frontiers with Bhutan and Darjeeling Gorkha Council in the south.
This mountain biking and trek itinerary offers an exclusive experience of Sikkim the Land, its people and the flora & fauna. Biking is on remote roads avoiding high traffic routes and meandering through the lush countryside and forests, which will make this a memorable tour. The itinerary has been designed with room for flexibility in route and overnights stays. Also a pilot vehicle preceding the group and a back up jeep will ensure full support to make your mountain biking in Sikkim an experience of a lifetime.
The trek to Maenam peak (3200m) has been included to offer a change in the program and also because Maenam offers a truly a fascinating and awesome view of the Sikkimese Himalayas.
This is one of our less challenging Mountain bike itineraries; you don't have to be an expert mountain biker to join this tour. However it is still a very interesting tour that gives you not only a chance to ride your bike in the Himalayas but also to experience Sikkimese culture and Tibetan Buddhism.
The best time to experience Sikkim by mountain bike would be March-May and October- December.
